February 19, 2021 Adiantku 0

One of the big stories in women’s bodybuilding in the last couple of years has been the influx of physique competitors who have moved up to compete with the big girls – and have been spectacularly successful.

When these athletes talk about making the transition from women’s physique to women’s bodybuilding, they all describe it in the same way: as a liberating experience.

“Crossing over into female bodybuilding has been such an empowering, accepting and freeing journey for me,” Ash wrote on Instagram at the end of an amazing year that ended with her placing fourth at the Ms. Olympia … Read the rest

December 17, 2020 Adiantku 0

This article was written by Bill Dobbins, and appeared in Muscle & Fitness magazine, in the February 1981 issue. With the Ms. Olympia now a standard tradition, it is interesting to note how it was started, and how the way of thinking in 1980 was.

And don’t miss the return of Ms. Olyympia at the 2020 Olympia Weekend (Dec. 18-Dec. 20). Order the livestream here.

“My God,” said the young man, looking in the door to watch the contestants as they signed in before the prejudging at the Ms. Olympia contest, “I can’t believe how beautiful they all are!”
It was a comment that said a lot about the first Olympia for women, as well as the current state of bodybuilding for women in general.

And, indeed, they were beautiful. In street clothes, high heels, makeup, coiffed and resplendent, it was difficult to image that these same women have … Read the rest

How Northern Chill Has Helped Hydrate This Year’s Olympia Competition

December 16, 2020 Adiantku 0

One of the most effective ways to leave an impression with your base is to leave a crate of your product at their front door.

In early fall, in an effort to keep IFBB athletes hydrated in their Olympia training efforts, Northern Chill, the quickly expanding producers of naturally alkaline mineral spring water, shipped a generous “contest prep” supply of its bottled water to a number of Olympia competitors at their respective gyms.

The feedback from the care package was as huge as the shipments themselves. IFBB athletes including two-time Olympia Women’s Physique defending champion Shanique Grant, Olympia 212 contenders Hidetata Yamagishi and Shaun Clarida and IFBB Bikini competitor Ashlyn Brown all shared their aqua enthusiasm on social media.

“CAN YA’LL TELL IM PSYCHED ABOUT MY @DRINKCHILLH2O #NORTHERNCHILL DROP OFF TODAY?!” Grant recently wrote in a recent Instagram post.

As one of the key sponsors for this year’s … Read the rest
