Being a woman is more than having feminine organs, is learning to understand your body at different stages of life and anticipate the small ailments before they become real problems. Stroke poses a significant risk to women’s health in the United States. It’s not only responsible for almost 8 percent of all female deaths, but it’s also the leading cause of long-term disability in the United States. And women are more often affected by this condition than men — almost 55,000 more women have strokes each year, and about 60 percent of the total number of stroke deaths happen in women.
