We know when you hear the words “drink your food” you probably expect to see some advertisement promoting the latest liquid diet. My name is Kelsey Myers Dare and I have always had an interest in fitness, especially after being involved in high school sports and collegiate cheerleading. I graduated from Miami University in December of 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Health. I am passionate about exercise and promoting good health and overall well-being. When you cut calories, you may drop weight for the first few weeks, for example, and then something changes. You eat the same number of calories but you lose less weight or no weight at all. That’s because when you lose weight you’re losing water and lean tissue as well as fat, your metabolism slows, and your body changes in other ways. So, in order to continue dropping weight each week, you need to continue cutting calories. Anytime Fitness does have a squat rack, a platform, a smith machine, a leg press, and a training area with rope and kettlebells, but other than that it’s just cardio and free weights really.
